History
Andave Shopfitting traces its roots back more than four decades and has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most trusted cabinet making and shopfitting businesses.
The modern chapter of the business began in 1994, when two young tradesmen, Andy Carter and Dave Byrnes, decided it was time to get serious about building high-quality cabinetry while delivering the kind of customer service that would set them apart in the industry.
Starting from humble beginnings in a small single-room factory in the old wine storage warehouses in Pickles Street, Port Melbourne, Andy and Dave focused on craftsmanship, reliability and attention to detail. Word quickly spread about the quality of their work and before long Andave’s reputation and workload was growing rapidly.
As demand increased, the team relocated in 1995 to a larger premises in Braeside, enabling the business to expand its operations and workforce to meet the needs of its growing client base.
Continued growth saw Andave move again in 1999 to De Havilland Road, Braeside, where the company entered a transformative period. During this time the workshop evolved from a traditional manual cabinet-making facility into a modern, technology-driven manufacturing operation. The introduction of advanced computer-based machinery allowed Andave to significantly expand its capabilities and take on increasingly sophisticated projects, particularly in the high-end residential fit-out market.
This evolution fuelled further growth and ultimately led to the company relocating in December 2006 to its current home at 41 Jarrah Drive, Braeside.
Today, the purpose-built facility includes a 3,500 square foot state-of-the-art machining and manufacturing centre, a 4,200 square foot assembly workshop and a 3,500 square foot storage and logistics facility, providing the space and infrastructure required to deliver complex and large-scale projects with precision and efficiency.
Throughout its history, Andave has remained deeply connected to the Braeside community, proudly supporting local sporting clubs and charities while maintaining the strong customer relationships that have underpinned its long-term success.
In 2026, the business entered an exciting new phase when it was acquired by experienced entrepreneur and highly respected business advisor, Sunny Bhasin. With a strong track record of building and scaling successful businesses, Sunny purchased Andave with a clear vision to expand the company’s capabilities, strengthen its market presence and drive the next stage of growth for the brand.
Now approaching 40 years in operation, Andave combines decades of craftsmanship and industry expertise with modern technology and forward-thinking leadership.
This blend of heritage, innovation and customer focus continues to position Andave as one of Australia’s most trusted and quality-driven cabinetmaking and shopfitting specialists.
